The Albatross
Wednesday 21 February 2024
It was almost like a cheesy Hollywood Christmas movie today, stunning trees dropping just slightly with crisp white snow, barely a breeze and silent. The storms that have be pounding the Sierra Nevada’s, have passed through and as it is a week day, the traffic was gone.
We drove up the Kings Canyon entrance and had the place almost to ourselves. There are lots of road closures, but many of them are always closed for the winter. If we had tried the Sequoia entrance again, we would have been stopped about 4000 feet up where we stopped for first lunch on the weekend, but here we were allowed to 6500. Anyway, here are pretty pictures of a pretty amazing landscape.
Back home, we’ve now booked the next week of travels, so all good. On the road again tomorrow.
