The Albatross

Off to Malaysia today, the few days in Singapore were just to recover from the plane flight and become human again.
We are hiring a car from a private firm I found on the web, I think it’s just one bloke as he did the Singapore Chauffeur pick up himself in the car we were hiring, and everything is in cash. I hope his Mum doesn’t need the car. We just dropped him on the side of the road after payment and he rang his wife for pick up. However, the deal is terrific and we have the car. And what a beast it is. 1.3 litres of pulsating Produa Bezza. It does have a very ample boot for a small car and is a terrific shade of blue. It also has some of the best air-conditioning on the planet. I think if we plan on overtaking anything we will need to turn the aircon off. After the Honda, the quarters are a wee bit snug, but when you get lost and end up in side roads of Johor Bahru its nimbleness is a blessing.
Next stop was a supermarket right outside Legoland, which is around the corner from where we are staying. I knew there wasn’t much around here food wise, so we are cooking tonight from our rather lovely two-bedroom apartment of the 24th floor (although they label it as 23a as the number 4 is bad luck). You can tell when you are in an Asian kitchen when there are no table knives, however there are lots of chop sticks. At $60 a night for a huge pretty apartment, who can complain.
