The Albatross

The snow had stopped when we went out this morning. With the sun shining, the roads were really starting to dry out, however anywhere there is shade it was still frozen. Only one incident that caused extreme buttock clenching.
Bend is famous for many things such as having many roundabouts that Americans don’t know how to use properly, having many breweries and everyone driving simply enormous pickups. However, one special feature really sets it apart. It is home to the worlds last Blockbuster video store. We thought we should drop in a peruse such an icon. I even grabbed myself a natty t-shirt.
We were also looking at some electronics this morning as Tuna’s tablet is starting not to support a lot of apps, and is looking pretty battered, well the case is. Oregon also doesn’t have any Sales Tax, so things are cheap compared to Oz. The trouble is we could find several tablets we liked, however no case to go with it. We decided to wait and do some more research when we went home.
As there is a microbrewery on every corner, we thought we’d do one or two. A tasting paddle and a pizza at Deschutes Brewery did for lunch, we than tried 10 Barrels Brewing. We thought we might do a paddle here too, however many of the beers were well into silly territory alcohol wise and I was driving, so I settled for a cleansing 5% pilsner. Our bladders now swollen ale, we departed to grab some groceries and research tablets.
