Now you see it, now it’s gone (‘cos it rained)

We are staying in a nice house in a small community about 5km south of Golden, where everyone has some land, trees and a shed full of wood. We woke up this morning to everything blanketed in about 2-3cm of snow and with snow gently falling and the big hills obscured by cloud. Such a change from the blue sky and views of yesterday afternoon.

It kept snowing until about lunchtime, so we ditched the idea of going for a drive to have a picnic lunch overlooking the nice big hills. Eventually it stopped snowing and started drizzling lightly. This then melted all the snow and finally the clouds disappeared. I had thought that as we are in early April the snow would have eased off a bit.

We did a bit of research on what we wanted to do for the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, after looking at the Yellowstone National Park website, we found out that the vast majority of the road in the park are closed and the road to Old Faithfull and the geysers and the majority of the rest of park won’t be open until early May. Bugger. We now need to reconsider where we are going to head to next.
