We only had 230km to go today and we took our time, stopping as often as we could. We were driving along the valley beside the Columbia River up to its source and the views and scenery of the Rocky Mountains were spectacular. We had a good hour before it started to cloud over and then rain. We also managed to see some wildlife, deer, bighorn sheep and what we both think was a beaver lodge.
This is an incredibly beautiful part of the world, and I don’t think I will tire of seeing gorgeous and majestic mountains covered in snow. When the cloud disappears a bit, you realise that there is another ridge of peaks behind the one you were admiring, and there is likely to more.
Stopped and had an ale at one of the local breweries, Grist & Mash, whilst waiting for check-in time.
We have a nice apartment is one of the ski lodges in Kimberley and a great view of the big hills form our small balcony and living room.
